Newport Beach, CA

I arrived in California this morning to photograph a wedding with my good friend Brody Dezember of Brody Dezember Photography in Utah. We scoped out some incredible locations for tomorrow's shoot. Then we hit Disneyland for some fun. Space Mountain never gets old.

This is also my first Mormon wedding. I am excited to see some completely different traditions from what I am used to.

Wedding Workshop: Fit for a Bride

We have some space still available for our first ever wedding workshop on June 1st!

Below are the details--please tell anyone you know who is getting married about this event. It's not a typical bridal show by any means--we are just going to be talking about hot trends in our specific industries and sharing creative ideas! We will be doing this again soon, so check back for future dates as well.

Engagements - Nicole and Jonathan with video

Yesterday, Tami and I had another awesome engagement session. With so many great images, I had to put together another little video.

Nicole and Jonathan have a unique situation. We actually are not photographing their wedding day. They did't find us until they already had another photographer booked. She saw a friends images that we had taken a while back and loved them--so we decided to have some fun anyway and do an engagement shoot.

We started at Nicole's house in Old Bridge that was absolutely beautiful--the landscaping was just like being in some of the nicest parks around. Next we headed to Spring Lake for some beach shots. Unfortunately, the beach took a beating with the last storm we had, but we still got some amazing stuff out of it. Take a peek--see what you think!

Engagements - Linda and Justin with video

I had to take some time away from the blog because engagement sessions have gone into high gear. If you haven't yet scheduled a time for one, I would give us a call as soon as possible. We currently are booking two to three weeks in advance.

I figured I would start things back up with an awesome session.

I have been friends with Justin since high school. When he told me about his engagement to Linda, I couldn't wait to photograph them. It's so much fun photographing a close friend. They are open and ready for some of the wildest things I can come up with.

Since they live in the city, I thought it would be great to photograph them there. I chose Tribecca for the shoot because to me it really shows the character of NYC. The old buildings, the cobblestone streets, and all the color bring life to the usual grey cold city. I could wander around there for hours with a couple. The funny part is that they live in the city and had never been down there before.
After an hour of fun, Linda wanted to go to a spot in Central Park that she had heard was absolutely beautiful, the Bethesda Fountain. By the time we got there, the sun had set but that has never stopped me before. With a little creative lighting and an awesome location, we finished up a highly successful session.

The other great part about photographing friends is the dinner afterwards. We hit one of my favorite restaurants, Victor's Cafe. If you are ever in the Times Square area and love Cuban food, definitely check it out for some great food and sangria to die for.

Linda and Justin will be getting married later this summer in Cancun. I can't wait for that!!!
