Luckily, last Tuesday was one of those days.<br />I met Christine and Vincent down in Tribeca for our little tour of the area. Christine had a couple of clothes changes with her which added to the variety in the images. The extra clothing was carried by her dad who did a great job helping out. They wanted to do some shots with their puppy at Duke Island Park. PJ came along on the shoot and it was a good thing because I got caught with an accident on the Parkway. When I got there, PJ already had them playing on a little trail with the pup. Then we all went on a little nature walk to a waterfall out in the park. It’s not easy photographing in a crowded department store. Michael and I headed out to Shelter Island, NY to photograph Kathryn and Matthew. Going this far for a shoot is not usually the norm but when Kathryn told me about her Grandfather’s house that she had spent her summers growing up at, I knew it was were we had to go. Carrie and Evan looked outstanding. It was also my first time down in the meat packing district. I loved the feel of the area with cute little bistros and tons of great spots for photographs.<br />Jennifer and Matthew were awesome and looked great. I loved the vintage feel their wardrobe added to the locales. PJ and I ended up in photographic overload. It was all building up to a whole reboot of our site. Today our new blog and our new homepage are going live. Over the next couple of weeks, our wedding site is getting a refresh with all new images. The major part that we are most excited about is an entirely new portrait site. Our entire portrait mission has evolved into what we truly love which is creating beautiful images to become wall decor for our clients homes. Now we have these cool waterfalls placed around the waterfront. Unfortunately, you have to be on the Manhattan side to appreciate them.<br />Alexis and Michael had a fun little romp with us around the area. It was a hot night so everyone involved was all sweaty. We have had a crazy summer full of awesome weddings. I can photograph their all day long. Then I started to feel some drops on my head and the sky opened up. Luckily the storms were moving pretty fast across the area. After a little break in the hotel lobby, we headed back out to play only to get caught again after walking a couple of blocks. Finding some dry locations made for some great romantic little spots. Any awning or overhang became our spot to stop. With so many great images, I had to put together another little video.<br /><br />Nicole and Jonathan have a unique situation. We actually are not photographing their wedding day. They did't find us until they already had another photographer booked. She saw a friends images that we had taken a while back and loved them--so we decided to have some fun anyway and do an engagement shoot.<br /><br />We started at Nicole's house in Old Bridge that was absolutely beautiful--the landscaping was just like being in some of the nicest parks around. Next we headed to Spring Lake for some beach shots. Unfortunately, the beach took a beating with the last storm we had, but we still got some amazing stuff out of it. If you haven't yet scheduled a time for one, I would give us a call as soon as possible. We currently are booking two to three weeks in advance.<br /><br />I figured I would start things back up with an awesome session. <br /><br />I have been friends with Justin since high school. When he told me about his engagement to Linda, I couldn't wait to photograph them. It's so much fun photographing a close friend. They are open and ready for some of the wildest things I can come up with. <br /><br />Since they live in the city, I thought it would be great to photograph them there. I chose Tribecca for the shoot because to me it really shows the character of NYC. The old buildings, the cobblestone streets, and all the color bring life to the usual grey cold city. I could wander around there for hours with a couple. The funny part is that they live in the city and had never been down there before. <br />After an hour of fun, Linda wanted to go to a spot in Central Park that she had heard was absolutely beautiful, the Bethesda Fountain. By the time we got there, the sun had set but that has never stopped me before. With a little creative lighting and an awesome location, we finished up a highly successful session. <br /><br />The other great part about photographing friends is the dinner afterwards. We hit one of my favorite restaurants, Victor's Cafe. If you are ever in the Times Square area and love Cuban food, definitely check it out for some great food and sangria to die for. <br /><br />Linda and Justin will be getting married later this summer in Cancun. We will have some great shots to post tomorrow. Until then, I thought I would share some of our site seeing.<br />The Breakers is one of the largest and most famous mansions in Newport. It truly is a site to see. Built in the late 19th century, it has five floors totaling 130,000 square feet. It's so big the tour is an hour long and you only see two of the floors. The inside is so elaborate they allow no photography. One tapestry dates back to the 17th century. Timing could not have been more perfect with our new store opening in the coming weeks.<br /><br />The gowns and models were great. I have so many locations scouted out in Millburn and we used one of my top picks, the train station for some outstanding images.<br /><br />I also have to can't forget about Veronica from Entisse who needed some great lingerie images and Jillian from Deviner Beauty who made the models spectacular. Allison was very shy about having her photograph taken but she came out awesome. After a wonderful ceremony, we headed to do what we do best. Nobody can make the Elizabeth train station look like we do. It also helps when you have a couple that you have watched grow together for the past couple of years. Their love would make any location look beautiful.<br /> Being that our job takes us to more weddings than anyone would experience, you would think that it would have just been another day at work but it was priceless to sit back and watch these two profess their love for each other. PJ has been with us for almost ten years now and is part of our little family at The Studio. On this venture, I had a chance to wander through SoHo with Karyn and Carmine. I was in sensory overload with all the great colors and locations this area had to offer. It was a complete departure from my usual midtown Manhattan locals. The cobblestone streets and all the old buildings set a great scene for this loving couple. Then the fun really started, we got to play with the firetruck.<br />Carmine is a member of the FDNY, as well as Karyn's father. Also, Karyn and Carmine got engaged atop The Empire State Building. These are elements that make these images and my job priceless.<br />Thanks to all the guys at Carmine's firehouse for helping out.
